Families, we are excited to welcome your students next week! Here are some quick-tips to ensure a successful start. These are not all-encompassing in terms of policy, please refer to the newsletter that was sent out last week and the Parent Handbook on our website. Teachers will also be sharing classroom-specific information at our Meet and Greet this Thursday, August 20, from 3:00 to 4:00.

  • Students are allowed to have water bottles in class. They should only contain plain water.

Colored drinks (Gatorade, powder packets, etc.) are not allowed in water bottles because spills are frequent and will stain the carpet. Colored drinks can be packed in lunchboxes for the cafeteria only. Soda is not allowed.

  • We do not allow gum at school.

  • Fidgets for students who need them based on IEP, 504 Plans, or Teacher/Parent agreement based on student need will be allowed.

Outside of that, students should not bring fidgets to school.

  • Students should not bring toys, playground/sports equipment, or stuffies to school (unless for a specific classroom activity when announced by the teacher). Slime is not allowed at school.

  • If your student forgets their packed lunch and you would like to drop it off to them in the office, this is okay. We do not accommodate fast food drop-offs as it becomes too much for office staff to manage during the day.

  • Families are welcome on the playground during morning drop-off from 8:30 to 8:45. We do not allow parents in the lunchroom or on the playground for afternoon lunch/recess for safety reasons.

  • Students are not allowed to have food or drinks on the playground, including during morning supervision. Please do not send students to school with Starbucks drinks, etc.

  • The parking loop at dismissal time is prioritized for first graders, but can be used by others as well.

If you are using the parking loop, please do not park and get out of your car.

We will load your student for you when you get near the front of the line.
